Environment workshops from Merseyside BioBank

Merseyside BioBank (MBB) collect and collate biological and environment information and make it available to people interested in their local environment. They promote the North Merseyside Biodiversity Action Plan and wider participation in conservation through education by supporting the biological recording community of North Merseyside.

The education team at MBB work to support teachers and environment educationalists to increase the knowledge and understanding of species and habitats across Merseyside and highlights the importance of biological recording. The team will be facilitating educators from key stages 2, through to higher education and are keen to encourage teachers and students to undertake casual records, annual surveys and more regular recording.

MBB welcomes and values the contribution that schools can make to recording local wildlife. It is essential to create biological recorders of the future in order to monitor and protect the species and habitats across Merseyside, so that we don’t lose them! We are keen to encourage schools to get involved with recording in the school grounds as part of their Eco Schools programmes or their Learning Outside of the Classroom curriculum.
