Shelagh is a professional and published children’s book illustrator of 25 years and an art tutor experienced in working with children of all ages and abilities, delivering art workshops in a variety of media and topics.

Shelagh studied Illustration at Kingston Polytechnic and now lives in Liverpool with her daughter Molly…her constant inspiration, and their cat ‘Jelli’.

Shelagh specialises in Children’s Book illustration including picture book, educational and special needs work. She is passionate about drawing and painting, always having a sketch book in her pocket to capture the moment. These include sketching behind the scenes at Wimbledon Theatre, ballet classes and farm yards.

'Shelagh is also the illustrator of the youtube sensation Sophia Grace and Rosie's picture book 'Tea Time with Sophia Grace and Rosie' which debuted at no.2 in the New York Times best seller list and as seen on 'The Ellen Show'.

Art projects are designed for individual groups, whole classes, whole years and whole school.

Any topic can be translated into an Art Workshop and are all cross curricular.

Workshops are fun filled, action packed and cover a variety of subjects in Art and Design including:

• Painting
• Drawing
• Model Making

Workshops can be bespoke and can be planned for your individual projects. I use a variety of mixed media and materials to help develop your ideas and realise the children’s creative potential.

Workshops are designed to closely reflect the Government National Curriculum in Art and Design Foundation Stages.

• Key Stage 1
• Key Stage 2

You can also book a Picture Book school workshop, where Shelagh explains and shows the children how a picture book is made from initial idea to completed published picture book.

"We have had the pleasure of working closely with Shelagh this year. She has worked with all children on exciting projects, introducing new techniques and inspiring us all! She is enthusiastic and motivating, stimulating our imagination and rekindling our creativity. Indeed, she has been a breath of fresh air, enriching the children’s minds and bringing the curriculum to life."
