Dramabuds specialise in providing imaginative drama classes and workshops exclusively for children aged 2-6 years old.

Dramabuds offer schools, nurseries and early years settings, one-off themed workshops, after school clubs and end of term drama parties. We support all six areas of Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) and areas of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

They aim to:

1. Nurture imagination and creativity through drama and imaginary play.

2. Increase confidence and boost self-esteem with fun drama games and exercises.

3. Enrich a child’s vocabulary and listening skills through interactive storytelling.

4. Promote physical development through dance and movement.

5. Explore our world, people, animals and places through drama.

6. Encourage all the children to work together to solve problems set within our stories.

“I have found Dramabuds to be excellent… The content of the sessions are varied using a mix of strategies including games, music, discussions in role and multi-sensory techniques, to engage the children. The style is lively keeping the children’s interest throughout. All the children participate with enthusiasm whilst concentrating and following instructions. The children’s ideas are used in the drama created and all contributions are valued and encouraged.” Helen Teasdale, Music and Drama teacher, St Giles’ School

Themed Parties and Workshops
You can book Dramabuds to deliver a one-off workshop. This can be used to introduce a theme to your class, to complement a topic you are already exploring, or to round off a project and become part of an event.

Using drama, movement, imaginative play and song we captivate the children’s imaginations. Together we create new worlds, become fun characters and use the children’s ideas to solve challenges set within the story.

Our current themes include:

  • Jungle Adventure
  • Down at the Farm
  • Mini Bugs
  • Going on a Dinosaur Hunt
  • Around the World
  • Magical Toy Shop
  • Pirates
  • Superheroes
  • FairytaleLand
  • Peter Pan
  • AliceIn Wonderland
  • The Night Before Christmas

We are happy to tailor-make workshops to suit a particular theme to complement World Book Day, literacy events or Christmas and other festivals.

Workshops are available for up to 30 children. In sessions of:

  • 1 hour
  • Half day (2 workshops)
  • Full Day (4 workshops)

After School Clubs

Dramabuds’ after school clubs are structured to stimulate young imaginative minds whilst developing concentration and communication skills, encouraging the children’s confidence to bloom.

Every week the classes start with lively movement to music. We then do our Dramabuds warm up, dance routines and games, followed by our listen, speak, create and imagine sections of the class. Each term the children work on a new theme and parents are invited to watch the performance at the end of each term.

After School Clubs are 1 hour in length for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Up to 20 children per club (we work in partnership with schools to deliver these clubs). Please contact us to discuss costs and setting up a club at your school.
