Andrew Wynne is a versatile visual artist with over 17 years of varied teaching experience with students of all ages and abilities during this time. He offers a range of educational service packages which can be designed to your specifications whether as a one-off half-day session or a bigger residential project. In most cases he will also provide all materials, visual and written resources and equipment.
As an artist working in schools, Andrew aims to create a unique, engaging and memorable experience for all involved. With good communication and mutual cooperation he takes the opportunity to apply his skills and knowledge to facilitate learning in alternative ways, through:
- Learning new skills
- Personal development
- Team building
- Developing creative approaches to the curriculum
Andrew works mostly with dyed textiles, print and mosaic and draws on a mix of conventional and intuitive sources for his inspiration. He designs and creates contemporary wall-hung work to commission and also for exhibition. His practice also includes teaching in adult education, school residencies with learners ranging from reception year through to sixth form and also in community settings with art & craft groups, day centres for people with learning difficulties and old peoples homes.
He becomes thoroughly immersed with the buzz created during a workshop: a unique interaction with people whilst working in a variety of settings. Andrew’s experience of team building also extends to the corporate sector and can be applied to a whole school environment. By simply by taking staff and pupils away from their usual working routine you are shifting the balance. Taking part in a creative activity which is also fun can have a beneficial effect throughout the school and can yield lasting and positive results.
Andrew carries £5m Public Liability cover and a current enhanced status CRB.
