Performing Arts and Media
As a company Newfound Theatre run a number of projects in schools that link to and compliment the national curriculum. Projects such as ‘Making Monologues’ which is an exciting performance workshop that supports GCSE English are proving particularly popular. They are happy to tailor these projects to suit your school’s specific educational requirements and they can also provide actor sessions, wherein they develop a performance or workshop based on any given text or work you are studying.
Newfound are often asked to develop other curriculum focused or issue based drama pieces and workshops, including themes of drugs, body image, healthy eating, coping with stress, money management, bullying and other topics. This forms a key part of their offering and as a flexible and reactive company they are happy to develop ideas and are interested in creating new projects.
They offer packages for children aged 6-19 years, either as a one off or in multiple sessions, covering drama, devising, improvisation, acting on film, mask making, puppetry, circus, parachute, music, dance, singing and creative writing. They can also offer a whole performance package wherein the young people can devise and perform their own production or they can direct an existing piece. Newfound Theatre can offer one off or multiple after schools sessions in both primary and secondary schools.
These sessions can include any of the previously mentioned disciplines or they can discuss other options, develop new projects or mix and match topics. As an additional service sessions can also be arranged as part of your school holiday club on a daily or weekly basis. All staff are CRB checked and have public liability insurance and are first aid trained.
