Jesse Green

As a recording artist Jesse Green enjoyed great success in the 1970’s with three chart hits in the UK and number 1’s in U.S.A. and Europe. He has also worked as a music producer and performed at many great venues including Carnegie Hall with Jimmy Cliff and on Top of the Pops.

It was after returning to England following the 1974 tour with fellow Jamaican 'Jimmy Cliff' which included dates in Lagos, Trinidad and New York that Jesse signed a solo contract and released his first album "Nice and Slow" for EMI."Nice and Slow", the title track for the album was a hit single and shot to No.1 on the US Billboard Disco chart. It was in the clubs of Europe, where the disco scene was just emerging that "Nice and Slow" became a major hit and resulted in him topping the charts in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland, France and Germany while notching up over 3 million record sales.

Jesse has been successfully teaching music since the mid 80’s and specialises in full drum kit and base guitar which as contemporary instruments often have a greater appeal to young musicians than more traditional instruments and which can be used to attract a broader mix of pupils to join in the musical experience. He is also a qualified singing coach with a wealth of experiential performance knowledge to impart and can take beginners keyboard classes.

As a professional performer he is associated to several music organisations including the MCPS, PRS, UKPS and PPL. In addition he has an excellent pass rate for pupils sitting LCM examinations with several achieving distinctions. Based in Wirral Jesse is able to serve any Merseyside schools and as part of his teaching services he can also supply instruments if requested. In addition to one to one instrument or voice tuition he is happy to discuss consultation services on any group musical activities or recording/production requests.

Jesse is still passionate about and active within the music industry and derives equal pleasure in nurturing and encouraging the talents of others. Having recently completed a 12 month placement at Queens School for girls in Chester Jesse is experienced at working within the school environment and the particular demands and disciplines required therein.
