Candle making has been part of the beautiful rural scenery at Burwardsley for 50 years. Cheshire Workshops practice ancient candle making skills and dip their candles using a centuries old technique. A school trip to Cheshire Workshops is fun, educational, historical and memorable.
Watch craftsmen creating beautiful, colourful designs that are exported throughout the world. Visiting pupils can try their hands at candle dipping in a choice of coloured waxes as part of an enjoyable day of traditional historic crafts. The Cheshire Workshop experience is history you can see, feel and touch which makes their educational visits extremely popular. The art of candle making is cross curricular and supports elements of history, design, art.
Candle carving demonstrations can be arranged for groups by prior request and you can view a vast range of candles in many shapes colours, fragrances and decorative styles and every visitor can take their very own candle home as a reminder of their fun day. In addition to candle workshops there are a range of other craft activities suitable for groups, including pottery painting, spoon puppets, fridge magnets and badge making that will stimulate the imagination and help develop your pupils’ creative skills.
