If you’re looking to enliven the curriculum and bring about a buzz that unleashes creativity inside or outside of the classroom, Blazing Tales could be right up your street. Imaginative, bespoke workshops proven to engage the entire class provide an energising boost to topics, in particular: arts, literacy, history, geography, PSHCE including SEAL.
“The mixture of songs, stories and art made it an enthralling day for all. It did wonders for our more reluctant children, and ticked off a lot of speaking and listening boxes! A fab session.” Pete Smith, KS2 teacher
Specialist artists and educators combine storytelling, song writing, visual art and digital media to deliver themed Workshops for all key stages. A highly interactive workshop style gives a refreshing, holistic approach to learning and skills development; appealing to diverse learning styles and abilities. Workshops integrate the arts towards an original, achievable goal with pupils.
Blazing Tales access all areas, particularly working in the environment or on heritage themes. Excellent workshop organisation provides scaffolding for the artists to guide pupils towards establishing and following through their own ideas.
Embedding a rich learning experience with a participatory, encouraging philosophy that helps to build confidence, team working, communication skills and self-esteem. Traditional oral storytelling and story making liven up speaking, listening and literacy. Writing new songs and compositions give a sense of ownership and a quality musical experience. Visual art creates tangible ‘thing/s’ that bring it all to life and pupils can use technology to record or transform.
Themes may either be supplied by the teacher or developed through collaboration between staff and artists in order to produce a workshop which provides dynamic and relevant learning opportunities for all involved while satisfying your curriculum demands. If you’re looking to work with two to four artists you can certainly benefit from booking an established team. Blazing Tales suit: arts weeks, heritage celebrations, longer or partnership projects, nights in the museum, for example, and they are experienced at leading residentials and training.
