Orchard Studios are a purpose built sound and vision recording studios set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. Despite being just 2 minutes from major road and motorway networks - it could be a million miles away! The studios offer a superb service to schools and colleges with customer satisfaction being their top priority.
“It was indeed a curriculum-enriching activity addressing an OFSTED development point.” - St Mary's Primary, Crewe
“The whole project was an exciting and interesting project for both staff and pupils alike.” - Frodsham Weaver Vale Primary
Orchard Studios work with groups from High School, College and Universities from across the country providing a range or workshops to help students to gain a further insight into the commercial world of recording. Each session is devised and run by a professional producer at the studios near Crewe. Workshops are designed to build and enhance the skills of students by offering first hand hands on approach to learning.
Workshops are ideal activities for any students considering studying Sound Engineering, Music Production or undertaking any music related or media course. Workshops can be tailored to individual groups with specific requirements or interests and can advance practical skills and experience of industry standard equipment or act as a general taster session.
Orchards also operate a unique, flexible and risk free fundraising programme which utilises their particular talents and harnesses the creative and performance skills of your school Pupils. Their free fundraising initiative works as a whole school project and involves your school recording a music CD in conjunction with Orchard which you can then sell to pupils’ parents. There are no up front fees to pay. Your school simply pays for the CDs which are pre-ordered from parents which effectively guarantees a profit for the school as there are no minimum order values and therefore no risk.
After an initial consultation with Orchard professionals, pupils rehearse and practice their performance pieces while also designing artwork for the CD cover. A date will be set for the recording session at your school. It is advisable to include as many year groups as possible in the recordings to maximise fundraising potential. Any solo or instrumental pieces can be recorded at the studios for quality purposes if required. Once the recording is complete the ordered CDs are delivered and your school will have generated a sizeable profit from a rewarding, creative and educational experience. If your school can sell 300 copies you will generate £1050 profit for school funds.
