What makes me qualified to teach children history? Well let me tell you as one of the most noteable and memorable reenactors in England the attention I get for what I do as far as teaching to the public envokes questions, fills kids with wonder and all because you will never hear the words "You can not touch that!"
I design my performances with children in mind but adults are always welcome to interact and the displays I produce are some which you will not see any where else on the school learning circuit.

In short once you invite me to your school and after we've discussed what it is you want as far as character/talk I will bring history alive and give the children that 'WOW' factor. I've seen their faces of excitement many times when they look at me in costume and see the displays and they are overwhelmed with anticipation of whats about to happen. It doesn't seem as if they've taken in anything at first but the test is in the questioning at the end and the general feel of excitement when they recall certain facts and things. Also and more importantly your helping create a memory and a new developed ideal of a love in history.
One thing I have learnt is to not draw out too long a talk. so always break my talks up with lots of activities.
