Playground Buddies to beat the Bullys
Published on 11-11-2017 During the recent Antibullying week it came to light that more schools are adopting ‘Playground Buddy Schemes’ to tackle the problem of bullying in school. A buddy scheme is usually launched in response to problems in the playground such as fighting, unruly behaviour or equipment being broken but can also be used as a proactive measure to prevent problems starting. The idea is to give some older children in the school a sense of responsibility and to involve them in helping to resolve conflict and prevent issues arrising.Read Full Story
Daisy & Jake educate Indian Street Children
Published on 11-11-2017 For the last ten years, Chamber Member, Daisy & Jake Nurseries have sponsored a Day Centre in India via a charity called The Tender Heart Foundation. The foundation offers help and hope to street children, providing a basic Early Years education that could lead to a primary school place at the age of 6. These children would otherwise face a much bleaker future. The foundation builds relationships with local families to end the cycle of child poverty through education while also helping with basic essentials like food and shelter for children who would otherwise go without.Read Full Story
