Blueberry Arts is an educational arts company who provide a diverse range of Visual, Musical and Creative Artists within educational settings. They work with schools to provide workshops that meet predefined learning objectives and when required, their work blends with the National Curriculum. Workshops are aimed at all ages and abilities and aim to inspire, delight and enhance the creativity of students.
Experienced Artists offer a variety of workshops including dance, drumming, song composition/production, storytelling, drama, DJ workshops and Caribbean cookery days. The Artists have worked within a range of educational settings including Nurseries, Infants, Primary and Senior Schools, with excluded students and within special schools.

Workshops
Dance -
Students are encouraged to listen and respond to the music and learn movement. Workshops are tailored to the needs of the students and all are encouraged join in and have fun producing a performance. We offer Bhangra, Limbo, Contemporary, Capoeira and Afro Caribbean.
Drumming -
Using the rhythms from around the world, our drumming workshops encourage teamwork, patience, empathy and understanding. Choose from Afro Caribbean, Japanese Taiko, Tabla, Dhol and Samba.
Song Composition and Production -
Workshops offer an insight into the history of music, the different styles and ingredients that make it what it is. Students listen and sample different songs to understand these styles.
Then they write their own music piece, learn several songs to perform along with song that they had created/written with the Artist to showcase their songs.
Storytelling –
Specialising in interactive performances with the audience using popular publications, puppets and toys to enhance the audience captivity. They are experienced in topic focus sessions such as Letters & Sounds, Book Week, Black History Month, The Early Years Foundation Stage and The National Curriculum.
Drama -
Skills taught can include physical theatre, devising, voice work, character development and direction amongst others on request. They also specialise in delivering workshops on specific issues covered in schools’ P.S.H.E lessons such as bullying, drugs abuse and sex education.
DJ Workshops -
Students will learn; about the equipment used, cueing up songs and song structures, basic requirements to mix by counting beats / bars and how this is relevant to mixing. They will learn about synchronizing two rhythms together and blending.
Caribbean Cookery Days -
These workshops are highly interactive and uses different Artists who specialise in cookery from the Caribbean. Participants will cook alongside the Artists using traditional foods and drinks. After the food is prepared, as they all sit down to eat, they will share stories and customs from the Caribbean comparing them with their own stories and culture.
Participants in this workshop will be expected to be involved in the workshop. This will include the cooking, under the instruction of the Artist, table setting, sharing the food, storytelling and clearing up. The Artist will bring the ingredients at the schools cost and must have access to cooking facilities.
Blueberry Arts can offer schools, looking for a number of Artists, a 'one stop' shop. Artists can be booked for one day workshops through to larger scale projects running over a number of months.
Key Information
Our Artists have a wealth of teaching experience and work hard with students to bring their Art alive and ensure that the workshops are fun and productive. They all hold a full CRB. We are a Midlands based organisation working locally and nationally.
