Unity is one of the best loved theatres in Liverpool and is committed to providing a broad range of creative opportunities for schools and the community; encouraging participation, innovation and diversity. Visiting schools benefit from Unity’s notable resources and experienced staff who specialise in creating educational projects for learners from Foundation to KS4 as well as college and university groups.

Unity Christmas Production – With a mixture of physical theatre, original music scores, stunning sets and educational themes, Unity have presented much loved traditional stories in unconventional ways for over 21 years. Building on the success of previous productions they offer a comprehensive theatre experience, including festive favourites, educational performances and regular workshops/ post–show discussions to examine themes and content.

Workshops provide an excellent opportunity for Q & A sessions with key staff members and the chance for pupils to meet the cast of the show. In the last year, Unity have hosted countless sessions with many of the companies forming their theatre programme including Told by an Idiot (Fahrenheit Twins), Fevered Sleep (The Forest) and Improbable Theatre Companies (Panic).

For an unforgettable experience, schools may book the entire auditorium with ice lollies ordered on request and return bus travel offering a safe and convenient passage from school and back. Material targets specified areas of the National Curriculum including speaking and listening, group interaction and responding to performance.

The To Do Market – In addition to theatrical productions, Unity boasts several unique promotions including a guided tour of the two auditoriums and front of house areas, taking pupils on an exploration of this former synagogue. They also host a ‘To Do Market’; a treasure trove of creative stalls offering an engaging and varied range of art & craft activities, story tellers, cake decorating, face painting and lots more and which is available to visit schools and community venues throughout the region.

Unity Youth Theatre – Unity’s offering extends beyond term time provision and also includes a thriving Youth Theatre; allowing any 14 – 18 year olds to work alongside professional theatre companies, performers and practitioners. Splatterdays! – Saturday provision for 5 – 8 year olds, encouraging lots of messy, exciting fun, based around performance skills and creative play.
