STEP INSIDE is run by Tricia George, a fully qualified teacher [with references and a CRB check] who has performed in over 350 primary schools, as well as libraries and summer play-schemes.
Her storytelling work is based around religious and cultural festivals. Aiming to celebrate the diversity of cultures represented through story and dance.
Authentic props and costume pieces are used to capture the children's imagination. Stories are drawn from the myths, legends and folklore of many cultures, and where appropriate, religion.

Storytelling Performance
A magical world of narrative, the atmosphere is enhanced with songs or interactive chants.
The audience are invited to be characters from the stories, and many exciting props are used to make the experience highly visual.
Storytelling performances are generally interspersed with dance intervals which reflect the culture of the stories told. These dances can involve a group of children or the whole audience, at staff discretion!
Workshop Timing
- Approximately 30 minutes for the Foundation Stage (3-6 yrs),
- 45- 60 minutes for KS1 and KS2 (6-11yrs).

- Bhangra/ Bollywood
- Samba
- Arabic Dance
- Rock ‘n’ Roll
- Native American Dance
The workshops generally start with a warm-up, teach a basic repertoire of moves, and can offer a short choreography. Alternatively the children may have an opportunity to get creative with the moves!
