The Mount Batten Centre provides a range of water and land based adventurous activities. Programmes are specially designed to inspire young minds and we work with teachers ensuring objectives are met. Bespoke programmes of activities can be arranged, tailored towards Accredited qualifications and the National Curriculum. Residential accommodation is offered for longer trips.

A teacher preview day enables you to make an informed decision on your residential trip to the Mount Batten Centre. The preview day includes a guided tour of the Mount Batten Centre, a chance to view our stunning activity areas by sail boat or RIB, a question and answer session with a member of our Senior staff, along with the chance to observe some of our activities taking place.
Asterixed teacher preview days are scheduled whilst the America's Cup Yacht race is taking place in Plymouth. The America's Cup is the most prestigious sailing competition in the world - elite sailors will be racing high-performance 45 foot catamaran yachts AC45s in the Plymouth Sound. As part of your teacher preview day we will ensure that you see this fast-paced action!

The Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre is located on the shores of the picturesque Plymouth Sound, a short distance from the A38 accessed from the M5. The centre is perfect for school trips being accredited by AALS and the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge, and is also recognised as a learning destination for the Children’s University project. Our instructional team are qualified by the national governing bodies BCU, RYA and BMC and we pride ourselves on our exemplary health and safety record. All essential safety equipment and clothing is provided. Additionally the centre is fully accessible by wheelchair and we have specially modified Keelboats and Dinghies allowing access to the water for all.
The centre provides an ideal learning and development environment for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re looking for a Year 5 LoTC day to a Sixth Form visit, Mount Batten offers a unique environment with day and residential facilities. Our dedicated instructional staff have ongoing training to ensure focused, educational and of course, enjoyable learning is achieved. The centre supports teachers with the delivery of educational programmes including NVQs, BTECs and ASDAN programmes. We look forward to discussing and delivering on your learning objectives.
