If you are looking for a quality, safe, activity or field study trip with a tailored program, look no further! The Manor House offers an alternative from the usual large centre mayhem and provides quality courses with personal attention. They are one of the few centres that can provide sole occupancy for your group which can seriously benefit your students. Many Schools return year on year for this very reason.
"Brilliant! We've had such a fabulous time. Thank you so much!" Stonar School
Schools courses at The Manor House are tailored to meet your group’s individual requirements. They offer Multiactivity Holidays, Field Study Courses and Single Activity Development Courses where a chosen activity can be taught to develop skills and competencies and perhaps to gain qualifications. Small groups ensure that the best personal development and teambuilding opportunities exist for everyone.
Activity or Field Study – courses can be combined to gain the best of both worlds! Field Study Trips are also popular which could focus on any number of different aspects that Cornwall has to offer: Coastal Areas - weathering, erosion etc, viewing stacks, arches and blow holes.Beaches - rock pool study, beach studies, marine wildlife. Economic Studies - affects of tourism on the local area, affect of Rick Stein on Padstow Some schools choose to use the centre as a Field Study Base organising their own study visits and activities. Rooms can be
turned into a laboratory for marine experiments or a classroom with interactive whiteboard, flip charts and reference books. Teacher Resources are provided to supplement a course when required, including worksheets, questionnaires, and teacher resource packs from galleries/aquariums/Eden Project as required. Home Cooked meals are provided each day which cater for all special dietary requirements. Two course dinners
(with ample seconds) continental breakfast (with lots of toast and cereal) and picnic lunches are provided to fuel your action packed days. Morning, afternoon and evening activities are planned each day according to your individual itinerary. Sessions tend to be 2 1/2 hours long and there are a number of activities, from which you can select your favourites. Each session gives children the time to learn the skills required and then to practise the skills whilst enjoying the activity. Shorter sessions would not give the children the chance to learn the skills and
then to practise them properly. Activity Course Holidays include: Surfing, Kayaking, Cycling, Body Boarding, Team Building, Coastal Walks, Moorland Walks, Survival Skills, Orienteering and Navigation Skills, Rock Pool & Beach Study, Town & Tourism Studies, Beach Party, Lifeguard Skills, Training, Tin Mine Visit, Shelter Building, Blue Reef Aquarium Visit, Eden Project Workshops, Maritime Museum, Dinghy Sailing, Crab Fishing, Adventure Parks, Team Games and more.
