OPERA WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS
ENO Baylis, ENO’s Learning and Participation team, are very proud of the work they do with schools, and enjoy forming strong relationships with teachers and students alike. They are committed to working closely with teachers and students to develop projects for schools and young people that respond to their needs and interests.
Enjoy Opera is a programme that gives secondary school groups the opportunity to attend a selection of ENO performances at the London Coliseum for only £8 a ticket – a saving of up to £30! For certain productions there are preperformance workshops to enhance and support your visit. Workshops vary depending on the production, are fully participatory and will involve anything from singing to movement, drama, improvisation and discussion.
LONDON JING KUN OPERA
London Jing Kun Opera Association was set up by artists in 2002 and incorporated as a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee in 2007. It is the only organisation in the UK that promotes the learning, appreciation, and practice of Jingju (Beijing/Peking Opera) and Kunqu Opera. We give workshops and performances for all levels.
LJKOA has a highly acclaimed 8-year track record of performances and workshops UK-wide. We have also appeared at the Venice Biennale Theatre Carnival 2006 and the National Heritage Museum in Malta. Please visit our website for information on our core performers and workshop leaders. Our hands-on workshops combine learning with fun. We are adaptable to specific requirements and budgets.
Scottish Opera's annual Primary Schools Tour is one of our longest established and most popular education programmes with around 10,000 children accessing the performances each year.
Each tour helps teachers all over Scotland deliver aspects of A Curriculum for Excellence for P5 to P7 pupils. As well as making learning exciting, challenging and creative, it allows up to 100 pupils to participate in a high quality, day-long music theatre workshop.
