The Music Development was established in 2005 and offers the local community a wide range of projects to aid musical education. They provide professional music tuition on all instruments and music theory while also giving young musicians opportunities to perform through the creation of the Liverpool Swing Band.
The Liverpool Swing Band consists of 16 young Musicians and appears annually at the Southport Flower Show. The Swing Band offers music students the opportunity to perform on their first study instrument in a professional environment. The use of professional scores and equipment delivers a professional sound with the ability to showcase students individually.
The Music Development specialise in music and arts based workshops for all ages and abilities. Their aim is to provide an introduction or addition to their students’ knowledge of music.
Helping students understand rhythm, timing and harmony brings focus to other areas of their lives. With The Music Development you are never too young! They offer a music course that introduces pre-school students to a wide range of musical instruments such as the violin, cello, guitar, drums, saxophone, clarinet and much more.
“Children exposed to a multi-year programme of music tuition involving training in increasingly complex rhythmic, tonal, and practical skills display superior cognitive performance in reading skills compared with their non-musically trained peers”, according to a study published in the journal
Psychology of Music.
