Makers of History

Elizabethan England is an exciting but dangerous place – if you want to stay healthy, get educated, and move up in Tudor society you are going to need some help!

A rich, finely dressed Tudor lady, Alice and her loyal steward Jack will spend the day with your class and help them learn how life was really lived in 16th century England. How do you survive plague and illness? How do you enjoy yourself while managing to keep your head on your shoulders? What must you never, ever say about the Queen – and much more!

With authentic costume and numerous artefacts Makers of History workshops involve the class in role-play, hands-on activities, games and drama to fully immerse children in Tudor ways, for the ordinary folk as well as life at Court.

“What a wonderful day, the children were fully engaged, had lots of fun and learnt lots of new things. Thanks for your energy.”
Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School

“The workshops were, as always, absolutely brilliant and informative and children loved how interactive they were. You added a truly enriching experience to our history day.”
