We offer an exciting, full day of content for up to three classes all in line with key 2014 National Curriculum objectives.
A rich Athenian lady and a proud Spartan tutor will work with your children, helping them decide which city they would like to live in. We focus on everyday life in Ancient Greece, and how Greek ideas have influenced the western world in areas like medicine , science, language, democracy, drama and much more!
We use lots of hands-on activities, artefacts, games, costumes to bring their learning to life. The workshop is engaging, active and highly visual and is designed to be as inclusive as possible for every child in your class.

The full day workshop covers ALL the following sessions:
• Whole class Artefact handling to discover more about famous Athenian landmarks.
• Consulting the Oracle, children play a game to find out what lies ahead.
• What’s the big deal with Democracy?
• Greek Hoplites – armour, shield and weapons.
• Spartan childhood – it’s tough!
• Play the authentic Greek board game of Ajax and Achilles.
• Got a problem? Ask the genius Archimedes.
• Hippocrates and Medicine.
• Craft Activity – children make and keep a clay souvenir of the day.
• Greek Theatre – all children perform a traditional play with costume, wigs, music and song!
• Ancient Greek dancing with live music.

‘Glorious Ancient Greeks’ can also be offered as a half day workshop for one class or two classes in parallel. Our workshops are reasonably priced and easy to book.
We can offer advice on costume and food for Ancient Greek Days, if all the children and staff want to dress up for the day.
