Qualified teacher Charlotte Foster delivers Chinese lessons and workshops to schools all over the North West. As passionate about Chinese as she is about teaching, Charlotte runs lively and colourful Chinese Language and Culture Days for classes and whole schools. In addition, she offers structured Mandarin language courses tailor-made for young learners, which work equally well as timetabled classes, PPA cover, or as an exciting option for an after-school, before-school or lunchtime club.

“The Chinese Language and Culture Day was so much fun – all the teachers were impressed by you and the children even more so! We would love to book you again for next Year!” - Sue Gledhill, St Francis CE Primary School, Blackburn

“Fantastic! Could not have been better! The workshop was fascinating and extremely well-presented, and you made the learning really accessible.” - Teacher, INSET workshop

“The children were completely captivated by your boundless energy and enthusiasm... I would highly recommend you to any school wishing to enhance their cultural curriculum.” - Sian Hodgson, Longford Park School, Trafford

Progressive schools in the North West have already begun to introduce Chinese studies into their curricular and extra-curricular timetables, motivated by the growing need for our young global citizens to have an understanding of East Asian languages and cultures. It’s All Chinese was developed in response to the demand for engaging language classes and workshops led by experienced classroom managers with an appreciation of the needs of young language learners.

Chinese Language and Culture Days

These fun, practical 'taster' workshops are great for whole primary schools over 1 or 2 days (30-60 minute workshops for each class), as an immersion day for one group, or split into weekly sessions over a half term. Flexible and differentiated, they are adapted to your timetable, class sizes, and the ages and needs of your children. A typical ‘China Day’ might include:

• A colourful whole school assembly to introduce the people, culture and geography of China

• Spoken Chinese – conversation, songs and games

• Written Chinese – calligraphy and art/craft activities

• Tasting Chinese food and using chopsticks

• Traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy

• A range of traditional clothing for children to try on

Mandarin Language Classes

It’s All Chinese also offers a range of short- and long-term Chinese language courses: as part of the Primary Languages curriculum, as an extended schools provision, or as a structured topic over a half or full term.

Chinese is very musical, making it an incredibly fun and surprisingly easy language for young children to grasp. The new script also gives students who struggle with alphabetic styles the opportunity to excel in, and enjoy, a form of written communication. The It’s All Chinese teaching style is practical, interactive and inclusive. Employing visual, auditory and kinaesthetic methods in teaching and learning ensures all children are engaged in the enjoyment of language acquisition.
