SportFit
Primary School Sport Programmes
SportFit will assume the role of a specialist PE teacher within your school and can deliver a range of services to enhance your sports provision. They provide a competitively priced solution, offering planning, delivery and assessment of the curriculum along with out of school provision. They currently deliver curricular sport to more than 100 schools which in most cases provides a solution to PPA.
Their solution includes:
- Lessons delivered using Rawmarsh Community Sports College curriculum resources covering Foundation, KS1 & 2
- Pupil Assessment
- Instructors that attend parent’s evenings to provide feedback
- A cover system replacing your instructor if they are unable to attend
SportFit can provide your school with high quality sports instructors to deliver a wide variety of activities before school, at lunchtime and after school.
This can support breakfast clubs, lunchtime supervision and after school childcare. All of our clubs can link with Children’s University, providing anexcellent way for participants to be rewarded.
‘Learn to lead….lead to learn’ is a 1 day programme aimed at Yr 5 & 6 pupils and auxiliary staff. This certificated course teaches up to 3 auxiliary staff members and as many as 48 pupils to deliver exciting, fun, and healthy activities to younger age groups during school break times. This fits in with the new National Primary Curriculum; builds responsibility & confidence; improves playground harmony and can be delivered within school clusters with SSCo support.
SportFit will help plan, market, and take responsibility for the delivery of holiday sports programmes throughout the year. This is proving a fantastic way for Head teachers to provide parents and children with high quality sports provision at affordable prices. Each of their programmes can be delivered using a range of activities and all with specialist equipment supplied. In addition to generic activities with a Multi-sports focus, they can also provide niche activities for a high impact. Activities can be changed on a regular basis to best suit the needs of your group.
LearnFit
Alternative Education Sports Programmes
LearnFit provides referral agencies, schools and young people with the ‘Wanna be a Sports Coach’ programme delivered outside of the school curriculum within the Foundation Learning tier. SportFit is an approved deliverer with a number of Local Authorities having achieved NEXUS Silver level status. All tutors are directly employed and trained with the PTLLS level 3 award. The ‘Wanna be a Sports Coach’ programme can be brought to your school or local venue to target students with moderate behaviour issues who are at risk of leaving school with no GCSE qualifications. Some learners will be able to combine the school based programme with individual days at the City Academy.
City Academies are being placed in Cities across the country with the greatest needs, including high NEET figures, high youth unemployment and poor GCSE attainment. The academies benefit from excellent transport links and offer referrals within 6 days with a daily roll on roll off programme. Courses support the most vulnerable young people from year 9 through to post 16 and are available in Leicester, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Bradford, Liverpool, Birmingham, Sheffield, Hull. The Next Generation of Sports Coaches
LearnFit aims to engage both pre-16 students and young people that have left school, with a passion for sport, onto its ‘Wanna be a Sports Coach’ programme. This involves working practically within a range of sports such as football, basketball, cricket etc. Refereeing, coaching, organising tournaments, and playing are key aspects of the programme. Learners receive coaching from professionals and spend time doing and not just learning how to do! The programme offers a wide range of foundation learning qualifications; preparation and progression onto Further Education and apprenticeship and employment opportunities. Alongside accredited qualifications, the academy aims to improve attendance, behaviour, and self esteem.
