Circus Seen

CircusSeen is a non profit organisation set up by local people in Sussex who wanted circus skills workshops available for the community, by the community and in the community. CircusSeen makes a variety of workshops available to schools, youth groups, after school clubs and other community organisations.

 

They have enjoyed substantial growth in demand for workshops in West Sussex and the surrounding area and take pride in providing the highest standard of service to all participants, whether at an education workshop, weekly workshop, or a drop in session and make every effort to ensure an experience with CircusSeen is as enjoyable and pleasurable as possible.

CircusSeen aims to provide children with opportunities to learn, practice, and display circus skills and provide performance opportunities. They offer a range of workshops suitable for all ages, which encourages students to work with balance and coordination while also helping improve social interaction and communication skills.

CircusSeen offer workshops covering all areas of circus skills with specialist teachers to accommodate every request. Workshops can focus on one particular skill or a combination of skills. They also employ instructors who are trained to work with all aspects of special needs. Workshops vary in length from: 1hr taster classes * 2hr circus skills classes * Half day class * Full day class with end of day show * Week long workshops with end of week show.

CircusSeen also run workshops at open days, community events and school fetes for all age groups. Workshops vary to suit participants’ capabilities and needs but always guarantee an element of colour and excitement to entertain your guests and give them a day to remember!

They are dedicated to making workshops affordable to all and can tailor sessions to suit most budgets. Workshops are available on any of the following subjects:

Poi spinning, Staff spinning, Diablo, Plate spinning, Pedal balance, Juggling balls, staffs, hats and clubs, Hula hooping, Feather balance, Gym ribbon, Clowning, Unicycle, Tight rope walking, Balloon modelling, Flower sticks, Trapeze, Performances.

There is something magical and compelling about the circus and the benefits of taking part in workshops are many. Success with circus skills is obtained through small incremental improvements in performance, so everyone comes away from a workshop with the sense of having achieved something special. This has a positive influence on self esteem and confidence and generates a feel good factor within the individual and the group.
