Church Farm

Why can’t sheep bite? Why do pigs like mud? And just how many children know how a carrot is grown?

An educational trip out to Church Farm will expand minds, raise questions and result in a lot of fun. It's an interactive learning experience with plenty of opportunities for follow-up work.

Younger groups can concentrate on getting up close with the farm animals, to feed them, touch them and learn how they are looked after.

Slightly older children can see the animals AND learn about the plant life cycle and organic farming. They'll help the farmer to plant or harvest the vegetables and can even take something home with them.

There are several packages available to book starting from £5 a head (minimum total charge (£140) but we can also run a specialised visit tailored to your school's curriculum.

For example, we have hosted A level art classes who used the beautiful views and interesting livestock to produce unique pieces, and higher-level business studies groups looking at farm diversification, marketing, packaging and retail.

“Church Farm provided the children with an excellent, educational day, filled with interactive activities and lots of opportunities to see the ‘Soil to Stomach’ process. I would definitely visit again!”
