Art-star is a company dedicated to providing quality art education to young people in a school setting.

We supply imaginative carefully planned projects and provide a variety of subjects and materials. We also offer a range of workshops covering dance and drama. Our approach to teaching art is a practical one; we think that outstanding work stems from competence and understanding of the different art materials available.

Children are given an opportunity to develop group-work skills and encouraged to learn how to evaluate their own art work.

Projects might run for a day, a week or weekly.  We can offer different professionals to provide workshops across the school.

Workshops

A typical workshop would be led by an artist who presents the children with a topic that might fit in with the curriculum, perhaps History, Geography, English or a subject we can supply, (Greek myths and monsters, British wild life, famous artists).

The first part of the day would be the design process, involving sketching and planning, then developing the drawing and learning how to make a print stencil.

The next printing stage is the great fun part and all children can make colourful prints, trying lots of experimental techniques in the process.

This workshop is a perfect art day for an entire class and we supply all the equipment and materials.

Another typical workshop led by a subject specialist could be making mosaics tiles to make a permanent indoor or outdoor display; this workshop is especially suitable for all ages across the school.
