CAN offers high quality award-winning creative arts programmes that work across the curriculum

CAN’s Arts programmes support pupils across the region to develop creatively, build confidence, self esteem and wellbeing, whilst linking into the National Curriculum.  We specialise in bespoke packages and can offer accreditation through the Arts Award.

Street arts, carnival and puppetry– Dance, music and rhythm, costume design, circus skills, puppetry, performance and unique giant and small pentatonic chimes.  Programmes can be designed that bring in many of these art forms, or concentrate on just one or two.

School Enhancement– CAN has extensive experience of transforming school spaces. Young people work with artists to create permanent pieces of art work such as murals, Gaudi inspired benches, playground centre pieces and interior spaces.

Health and Wellbeing– Projects focus on health and wellbeing issues including emotional and sexual health. Particularly beneficial for vulnerable and isolated young people.

Express Yourself– Art based activities help build confidence and skills for young people who are vulnerable or may experience emotional difficulties.

SHAPE– Artists work with young people to create a safe environment for pupils to learn about relationships and sexual health issues.

Cultural Awareness– The workshops are run by international artists including Kurdish, Romanian, Iranian, Angolan, Gambian and Indian practitioners. Art forms include music and rhythm, storytelling, visual art, drama, dance and movement. Sessions end with a performance to the group/class or whole school.

Digital Art– We design projects using digital media including film, sound, animation and graphic design. We use technologies that can be adapted for a range of ages and aptitudes.

Creative Consultations– We run in depth consultancies aimed at getting youth voices into the planning and delivery of schools projects.
